um I saw the original poster of this back in my widwest native history class last year… this is not the real poster. The original was made during Allotment, advertising prices for white people to purchase “Surplus lands” from these nations

Whoever made this poster is erasing our actual history and it really pisses me off 

i know that they legit sell off native land without consulting the people that lived there, but i think this was just a sorta “fuck you” to the people who decide to adopt and wear a tribe like some people wear jackets, ya know?

sorta like a “they took our lands and now they’re still steady stepping on our throat” sorta thing.

but thats just how i took it.

I mean I get that it’s supposed to be a joke about all the pretendians, ESPECIALLY on tumblr. I am just worried that the original idea is not well enough known for the true humor of this to be appreciated. I worry that many people do not know our true history and don’t understand allotment or the effects that it had on us
